Itinerary idea in detail

With international flights from a choice of airports including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Naples. On arrival at Naples airport, you'll be met by your private driver and start your trip by heading south to Pompeii. Here you'll have a privately guided tour of this remarkably preserved archaeological site seeing the remains of the ancient city. Later you'll continue on to Positano where you'll check into your hotel and have the remainder of the day free.

  • Today, you continue to explore the Amalfi Coast with a tour of the towns of Ravello and Amalfi. Ravello is best known for its gardens and the annual Ravello Music Festival that takes place each summer. After time spent there, you carry on along the coast to Amalfi, where you'll see Baroque architecture and can browse shops selling handmade cotton paper.

  • For another perspective of the coastline, today you embark on a scenic hike along the Path of the Gods, beginning in the small town of Bomerano and making your way to the small hamlet of Nocelle. Afterwards, you will have lunch at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel in Positano for an afternoon at leisure.

  • The island of Capri, a short boat ride from the Amalfi Coast, is home to light-filled grottoes and offers unspoiled views of the sea. With your private boat and guide you can explore the water around the island, visiting some lesser-known grottoes and having the opportunity to take a swim. You then head to the Marina Grande to explore the island itself, making your way through the winding, shop-lined streets and taking some leisurely time for lunch before cruising back to Positano.

  • This morning, you will be taken to Naples Airport for your flight to Catania on Sicily's eastern coast, where your private driver is waiting to bring you to Syracuse, once one of the most important cities in the Greek Empire. You have the afternoon free to explore the city; we suggest enjoying an aperitivo in the Piazza del Duomo across from the impressive cathedral, which in its present form dates from the 7th century but incorporates the columns of an ancient Greek temple.

  • Today you have time to get to know Syracuse, both by walking its winding streets and by preparing and eating your own Sicilian meal. You're met by your guide at your hotel for a walking tour of Syracuse's historical heart, the island of Ortigia, after which you head to the bustling open-air market to purchase fresh ingredients for your lunch. After you've finished shopping, you visit a Sicilian family home to prepare and enjoy your meal together with your guide and her family, before returning to your hotel.

  • This morning, you set off from your hotel for a full-day tour of the Baroque towns of Ragusa and Modica. Starting in Ragusa at the top of Ragusa Superiore, the upper town, your guide takes you down the 242 winding steps that lead to the lower town, Ragusa Ibla, enjoying the rooftop panoramas along the way. You then leave your guide and take a private car to have some free time to explore the cobbled streets of Modica, where you can sample some of the chocolate for which the city is known.

  • Today is a relaxing day, as you depart Syracuse and head for Taormina, about two hours away. You have the rest of the afternoon in Taormina at leisure. We recommend you visit the Teatro Greco, toward the top of the city, which is still used as a performance venue and has Mount Etna as its natural backdrop.

  • Today you're able to experience the grandeur of Mount Etna up close as you explore the slopes of the volcano in a 4x4. Driving through the lower slopes, you see both ancient and modern lava flows, as well as how the fertile volcanic soil nourishes beautiful forests and other vegetation. Afterwards, you visit a winery at the base of the volcano for a lunch of specialties from the area paired with local Etna wines.

  • You have today entirely at leisure in Taormina. We suggest spending a relaxing day on the beaches of Isola Bella, an islet and nature reserve that's accessible by cable car from the main town, or exploring the small hilltop town of Castelmola, just above the city.

  • Your private driver will take you to Catania's airport for your departing flight. Your return flight will arrive the same day.
